UP Scholarship 2025: Application Process Begins
The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has initiated the online application process for the UP Scholarship 2025-26, aimed at providing financial assistance to students across various educational levels. Eligible students include those studying in classes 9 to 12, as well as those pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, or certificate courses such as BA, B.Sc, B.Tech, MA, M.Tech, ITI, and medical diplomas. The scholarship also extends to students from other states enrolled in Uttar Pradesh institutions. To apply, candidates must submit their forms online, ensuring their Aadhaar is linked to their bank accounts for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of funds. The department has emphasized that no application fee is required, making the process accessible to all eligible candidates.
For the 2024-25 academic year, funds for General, OBC, and Minority students are expected to be disbursed by May 15, 2025, while SC and ST students will receive their first installment by the same date and the second by May 2, 2025. Students who applied between January 15 and March 31, 2025, can expect funds by June 21, 2025. Corrections to applications can be made from April 29 to May 6, 2025, with hard copies due by May 13, 2025.
The scheme also supports Sanskrit education, with increased scholarship amounts for students in Sanskrit schools and colleges. Applicants are advised to check their application status regularly on the official portal using their registration number and date of birth. The department has also introduced the Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE) platform to facilitate Aadhaar seeding for seamless DBT transactions.
